Biography

Edgar was born in 1909 in Putnam, Connecticut.[1] He found work in Norwalk, Connecticut at Orhm's Dairy Farm. He stayed at the YMCA, a place where Christian men could find lodging; he was well-liked and was elected mayor of the dormitory. Shortly after, on 18 Aug 1939,[2] he married Helen Clark who he had met at a local dance.

After their second child was born, they moved to Deland, Florida. Helen's father, Raymond had moved there in hopes to cure his Rheumatoid arthritis. They bought a house near her father, so she could help care for him.

While in Florida, Edgar came down with Typhus Fever. The doctor told Helen that if he survived the fever he would live. He was in the hospital for ten days. She was able to visit him in the hospital, but he was so delirious with a high fever that he only remembered her coming a couple of times.

They moved back to Connecticut shortly before her father died and settled in Woodstock, Connecticut. They had five sons and one daughter.
